Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • 4-7 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting or related roles.
  • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles, with specific expertise in ASC 606.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, with experience in NetSuite or similar platforms.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets and financial models.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive process improvements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx preferred.
  • Experience working with Salesforce or other CRM systems preferred.
  • Prior public accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the revenue accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions in compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606.
  • Perform monthly close tasks for all revenue-related activities.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and other analytics to ensure complete and accurate recognition of revenues.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, sales, operations, and other business partners to provide guidance on complex revenue transactions.
  • Leverage data analytics tools to identify revenue trends and improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Provide support and maintenance regarding internal controls over the order-to-cash cycle.
  • Coordinate directly with external auditors to ensure compliance.
  • Mentor staff accountants and assist in establishing departmental best practices.
