Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a sales role.
  • Proven ability to manage a full sales cycle, including cold calling, discovery, demos, and closing.
  • Capacity to identify and close large/complex deals.
  • Experience working in a metrics-driven environment.
  • Strong ability to interpret and apply feedback and coaching quickly.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to travel to campuses 40-50% annually, with up to 75% during peak sales seasons.
  • Residence in Sacramento, San Francisco Bay Area, Fresno, or Bakersfield area required.
  • Previous experience selling to professors in person is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, create, facilitate, and close new business opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Represent and sell the full suite of Top Hat and partner products, including digital textbook content and SaaS platform.
  • Position and message Top Hat's value proposition to professors and department leaders.
  • Utilize a blend of inside and outside sales techniques to drive revenue.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success Managers, product, and marketing teams to ensure a positive customer experience.
