- 5+ years of professional experience in a communications role or an operational role with significant communication elements.
- 2+ years of experience managing people and specialized teams preferred.
- Track record of setting strategy and vision in communications, brand, or an adjacent domain.
- Experience leading initiatives end to end from strategy setting through delivery.
- Hands-on fluency across earned media, brand, and content creation.
- Excellent strategic judgment and ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Ability to synthesize complex technical topics into digestible content.
- Demonstrated use of measurement and feedback to evaluate impact.
- Strong interest in AI safety and the mission of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aimed at engaging policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders.
- Oversee media relations, secure high-impact coverage, and lead rapid response communications to address AI safety narratives.
- Mentor and expand the communications team, including content specialists and social media experts.
- Manage the cross-channel editorial calendar and website as the primary brand surface.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with research, events, and policy teams to ensure consistent messaging.
- Represent the organization at industry events and build relationships with key stakeholders.
