Requirements

  • Experience in building services engineering, facilities management, maintenance engineering, design engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements relating to maintenance and facilities management.
  • Ability to interpret legislation, standards, and guidance documents in technical or operational settings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with persistence to work through ambiguity.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting technical reasoning.
  • Ability to manage multiple reviews and priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Degree in engineering, building services, facilities management, or compliance is desirable.
  • Professional membership or accreditation (e.g., CIBSE, IWFM, IMechE, IET, IOSH) is desirable.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 or structured quality management systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Complete structured compliance reviews of technical maintenance content produced by SFG20.
  • Carry out detailed technical research across legislation, standards, guidance documents, and industry publications.
  • Critically evaluate technical content, challenge maintenance tasks, frequencies, and skill sets.
  • Verify statutory maintenance criticalities and supporting legal justifications.
  • Work collaboratively with Technical Authors and subject matter experts to resolve technical queries and compliance challenges.
  • Produce clear, structured, and defensible compliance review documentation and audit trails.
  • Contribute to the development and continual improvement of compliance processes, review methodologies, and governance frameworks.
  • Support technical compliance assessments relating to platform developments, operational processes, and customer-facing content.
