Requirements

  • 8+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech market access, field-based payer account management, or managed markets strategy experience.
  • Established relationships with key PBM, GPO, and payer decision-makers (Optum and United preferred).
  • Strong grasp of payer decision-making processes, formulary management, medical policy, and specialty pharmacy dynamics.
  • Proven track record of managing national commercial payer accounts and contract negotiations, including pre-launch and launch readiness.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to convey complex scientific and economic data.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other graduate degree preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% for meetings and conferences.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity with a bias for action and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic engagement with national and large regional commercial PBMs and payers.
  • Build and manage relationships with key decision-makers across payer organizations.
  • Analyze competitive landscape and coverage policies to anticipate payer needs.
  • Identify and address barriers to access to ensure product is positioned for formulary and P&T reviews.
  • Lead pull-through initiatives and negotiate innovative contracting opportunities.
  • Serve as the internal voice of the payer to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Market Access, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Regulatory) to develop payer-facing materials.
