- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to maintain knowledge of pharmacy reimbursement methodologies.
- Proficiency in medical terminology.
- Strong computer literacy and workplace organization skills.
- Experience with third-party payer authorization criteria.
- Ability to communicate effectively with care teams, patients, and insurance providers.
Responsibilities
- Complete prior authorization and document referrals for medications using third-party payer criteria.
- Conduct research and follow-up activities within established timeframes.
- Act as a liaison between care teams, patients, and insurance companies regarding authorization status.
- Manage patient enrollment in medication assistance programs, including completing necessary paperwork.
- Track fund award end dates and re-apply as necessary to prevent treatment lapses.
- Educate providers and patients on specialty services and assist in growing the patient population.
