  • Proficiency in medical terminology.
  • Strong computer literacy and workplace organization skills.
  • Experience with third-party payer authorization criteria.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with care teams, patients, and insurance providers.

Responsibilities

  • Complete prior authorization and document referrals for medications using third-party payer criteria.
  • Conduct research and follow-up activities within established timeframes.
  • Act as a liaison between care teams, patients, and insurance companies regarding authorization status.
  • Manage patient enrollment in medication assistance programs, including completing necessary paperwork.
  • Track fund award end dates and re-apply as necessary to prevent treatment lapses.
  • Educate providers and patients on specialty services and assist in growing the patient population.
