Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in video production, digital media, communications, journalism, advocacy, or related fields.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in video production, editing, digital storytelling, or campaign/media work.
- Strong proficiency in video editing and production tools, with the ability to deliver polished short-form content under tight timelines.
- Excellent storytelling ability, with a talent for simplifying complex policy or technical topics into engaging narratives.
- Deep familiarity with social media platforms and native video formats, trends, and engagement strategies.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, execution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving instincts and a bias toward action.
- Ability to commit to a 20-hour weekly schedule, including recurring weekday morning meetings and structured daily availability.
- Experience with tools such as Premiere, After Effects, Figma, and Descript is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the video content strategy across policy communications, advocacy campaigns, and public-facing storytelling initiatives.
- Produce, edit, and package short-form videos optimized for social media, digital campaigns, press outreach, and stakeholder engagement.
- Translate policy concepts, research insights, and real-time media moments into clear, compelling visual narratives.
- Collaborate with communications, policy, campaigns, and government relations teams to identify timely video opportunities tied to legislative and news cycles.
- Create diverse video formats including vertical social clips, explainers, interviews, event recaps, rapid-response content, and partner-facing updates.
- Manage production assets such as graphics, captions, thumbnails, b-roll, stock footage, music, and other creative elements to ensure high-quality output.
- Maintain a consistent visual identity and editorial tone across all video content.
- Track video performance and provide recommendations to improve engagement, reach, and overall impact.
- Coordinate with external vendors or freelancers for specialized production needs such as animation, filming, or advanced post-production.
- Partner closely with senior creative and communications leadership to align video output with broader organizational messaging.
