Requirements
- Graduation from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or completion of required clinical proficiency exams.
- Active licensure in good standing in the state of California.
- At least two years of experience in small animal veterinary medicine and surgery.
- Competence in surgical and dental procedures standard to general small animal practice.
- Proficiency in patient-appropriate anesthetic protocols.
- Experience with diagnostic modalities including digital radiography, hematology, chemistry, and cytology.
- Strong ability to gather information through written communication, phone, and chat.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to adapt and embrace change in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Process diagnostic results, medical questions, and medication requests.
- Formulate and execute diagnostic and treatment plans, adapting to patient status changes.
- Communicate diagnostic findings, preventive care, and treatment options clearly to clients.
- Collaborate with practice doctors to maintain continuity of care and medical standards.
- Consult with specialists regarding diagnostics and therapy as needed.
- Resolve client service issues and escalate complex feedback to the Lead Virtual Care Doctor.
- Partner with the Care Team to provide virtual support for in-clinic operations.
