Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on analytics engineering experience with production dbt projects (models, tests, macros, documentation, CI).
  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills for correctness-critical outcomes.
  • Experience operating data pipelines in a warehouse environment, specifically Snowflake.
  • Strong programming skills (Python preferred) for building data tooling, automation, and reconciliation workflows.
  • Deep Snowflake technical expertise including architecture patterns, security/governance, and performance tuning.
  • Strong ownership mindset with ability to lead ambiguous work across finance and engineering stakeholders.
  • Experience with accounting concepts (subledgers, journal entries, balance rollforwards) is a plus.
  • Experience designing SOX-friendly controls is a plus.
  • Experience applying AI/LLMs to data quality or reconciliation workflows is a plus.
  • AWS experience (S3/IAM) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own dbt models for the financial subledger platform, including naming conventions and reusable patterns.
  • Implement strong data quality and controls in dbt, such as tests, freshness checks, and automated reconciliations.
  • Embed AI-assisted reconciliation capabilities into the platform to automate variance triage and generate reports.
  • Own end-to-end subledger data products with clear traceability from source events to final outputs.
  • Partner with Accounting and Financial Reporting to translate requirements into clear, durable model specifications.
  • Drive production operational ownership through monitoring, incident response, and root-cause fixes.
  • Collaborate with upstream engineering teams to define inputs and improve source data quality.
  • Coach and develop an Analytics Engineer through code review, pairing, and technical direction.
