Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of technical leadership across multiple teams or domains.
- Deep expertise in designing and operating production-grade integration systems, including REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and messaging systems.
- Strong experience with API lifecycle management (versioning, contracts, deprecation) and API gateway technologies.
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, or similar).
- Hands-on experience building and operating cloud-based systems (AWS strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with distributed systems concepts, asynchronous processing, and event streaming platforms.
- Proven ability to drive architecture decisions and influence without formal authority.
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools in daily engineering workflows.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and platform stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the reference architecture for platform integrations, including API standards, integration patterns, and event-driven system design.
- Lead architectural reviews and technical decision-making for cross-team and cross-product integration initiatives.
- Design and evolve REST APIs, messaging systems, and integration frameworks.
- Drive adoption of shared integration infrastructure and establish onboarding standards, documentation, and governance practices.
- Contribute hands-on to backend development, including integration services, shared libraries, and developer tooling.
- Identify systemic risks and architectural gaps proactively to improve system reliability.
- Mentor senior engineers and elevate engineering practices through code reviews, RFCs, and design guidance.
