Requirements
- Expert knowledge of security for cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Deep expertise in container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Go, Python, or Ruby.
- Track record of delivering production-quality security tooling.
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure-as-Code security (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
- Hands-on experience with policy-as-code and automated compliance.
- Proven experience applying AI to security workflows.
- Track record of leading multi-team technical initiatives from ambiguity to measurable outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with security certifications and frameworks (FedRAMP, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS).
Responsibilities
- Set architectural patterns, reference implementations, and foundational security automation for GitLab infrastructure.
- Lead infrastructure security initiatives from problem framing through delivery.
- Conduct and lead comprehensive security reviews and threat modeling for complex infrastructure components.
- Define the team's approach to AI-assisted security engineering.
- Serve as an authoritative technical voice for Infrastructure Security across stakeholders.
- Partner on technical planning, prioritization, and roadmap development.
- Mentor and develop engineers to raise the technical bar.
