Requirements
- Strong, hands-on SQL proficiency (complex transformations and query optimization).
- Proven experience with dbt (Core or Cloud) in a production environment.
- Experience working with a cloud data warehouse or lakehouse (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Solid understanding of dimensional modelling, star schemas, and slowly changing dimensions.
- Comfortable working in a code-reviewed, version-controlled workflow.
- Experience working within a BI team with an understanding of reporting tool requirements.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into documented data definitions.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly desirable: Proficiency with Tableau or Power BI.
- Highly desirable: Familiarity with Databricks, Unity Catalog, or similar governance tooling.
Responsibilities
- Build and own the Analytics Engineering practice from scratch.
- Develop a single source of truth for business metrics and logic definitions.
- Partner with Data Engineering to align data pipelines and semantic layer boundaries.
- Collaborate with Insight Analysts to encode business logic into reliable data models.
- Coach BI Developers on dbt best practices and data modelling standards.
- Design and document self-serve data marts with a focus on data quality.
- Prepare semantic layers to ensure data is clean, governed, and AI-ready.
