Requirements
- 8+ years of engineering experience.
- Minimum of 4+ years managing engineers or engineering teams.
- Track record of building and leading high-performing teams that ship industrial-strength systems software.
- Strong technical depth in distributed systems or databases.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and query processing.
- Understanding of database engines, concurrency control, and data replication.
- Passion for building highly reliable system software.
- Experience with C/C++ on large code bases is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL internals is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead, grow, and mentor a globally distributed team of database internals engineers.
- Manage hiring, performance, career development, and team health.
- Own team execution and set the technical roadmap in partnership with Product.
- Prioritize work while balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.
- Partner with Platform Engineering and other leaders to build a world-class customer experience on Tiger Cloud.
- Engage with high-value customers on escalations and technical needs, translating feedback into team priorities.
