Requirements
- Experience in payroll management or an equivalent field.
- Deep knowledge of payroll best practices.
- Proficiency with software tools such as SAP, Excel, and Google Sheets.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Strong automation and AI capabilities and fluency.
- Ability to work largely asynchronously.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Proactive and energetic approach to work.
Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert for Japan payroll operations.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders in Payroll Implementation, Finance, Product, and Engineering.
- Process full end-to-end payroll in-house, including statutory filings, exceptions, approvals, and payments.
- Maintain data integrity and high-quality payroll records.
- Perform accounting and reconciliations.
- Focus on achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Implement and improve payroll processes.
- Mentor and support junior payroll specialists.
- Provide backup for regional managers during absences.
