Requirements
- Proven experience in payroll management or equivalent.
- Expert knowledge of payroll best practices.
- Proficiency in SAP and office tools including Excel and Google Sheets.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international, and asynchronous environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use automation and AI tools for productivity.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Passionate about making a measurable impact in HR operations.
Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert for Japan payroll operations.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders in Finance, Product, and Engineering teams.
- Process end-to-end in-house payroll, including statutory filings, exceptions, and payments.
- Ensure data integrity and payroll compliance.
- Perform accounting and reconciliation tasks.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate payroll processes.
- Mentor and support junior payroll specialists.
- Provide backup coverage for regional managers.
