Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (JD, MBA, or Masters) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in BSA/AML, Financial Crimes, screening technology, or risk management systems.
  • 5+ years in leadership roles overseeing complex programs, teams, or technology initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of BSA/AML screening platforms (e.g., Actimize, LexisNexis, SAS, Oracle Financial Crimes).
  • Experience defining business requirements, implementing enhancements, and validating system outputs.
  • Proven experience managing user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation processes in highly regulated environments.
  • Deep understanding of BSA/AML regulatory requirements, risk frameworks, and sanctions screening.
  • Experience supporting model governance, lifecycle management, and tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and reporting practices.
  • Experience leveraging data analytics tools to support performance analysis and alert optimization.
  • CAMS, CFCS, or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with BSA/AML and compliance stakeholders to translate screening strategies into detailed functional specifications, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, evaluating technical solutions to ensure alignment with BSA/AML program objectives and risk management frameworks.
  • Maintain a portfolio of system enhancements, defect remediation, model tuning, and regulatory-driven updates.
  • Own user acceptance testing (UAT) for screening platform changes, including development of strategies, test plans, and sign-off procedures.
  • Oversee ongoing monitoring of screening outputs and alert volumes to identify anomalies, data quality issues, or model effectiveness changes.
  • Lead tuning and optimization activities to improve screening effectiveness and reduce false positives.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate screening performance.
  • Lead and mentor a team of BSA technology analysts and functional specialists.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for BSA/AML screening capabilities.
