Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BSEE strongly preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Transmission & Distribution substation engineering for electric utilities and renewable energy projects.
- Experience as an Electrical Project Engineer in substation applications including primary outdoor design and studies.
- Deep knowledge of High Voltage substation North American standards (IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC) and Grid Codes.
- Understanding of HV/MV equipment application, sizing, and integration (transformers, reactors, breakers, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of EPC or EEP project execution and civil/structural design requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM, and Revit.
- Demonstrated electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and field-testing capability.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, including international travel.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all technical aspects of substations and balance of plant for large HV projects.
- Manage engineering activities including schedule development, design safety, project design reviews, and quality control.
- Prepare and deliver concept and detail designs for single line drawings, physical layouts, and elevation drawings.
- Produce technical specifications and data sheets for major HV equipment.
- Manage project bills of material and high voltage equipment specifications while supporting vendor sourcing.
- Act as the single point of contact for technical issues and ensure customer engineering requirements are met.
- Respond to site requests for information and conduct field inspections for compliance verification.
- Support proposals and tenders for HVDC or substation projects, including estimating man hours.
