Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 7 – 10+ years of experience in food manufacturing, product development, commercialization, or technical operations.
- Proven experience in meat snacks, meat processing, or shelf-stable animal protein products.
- Demonstrated success leading complex manufacturing and commercialization initiatives across multiple facilities.
- Strong knowledge of food processing, formulation, quality systems, and manufacturing operations.
- Experience supporting and influencing co-manufacturing partners.
- Proven people leadership experience in coaching, performance management, and talent development.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance quality, cost, speed, and scalability.
- Experience leading continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute R&D strategies supporting manufacturing excellence, quality, and growth.
- Lead commercialization from concept through full-scale production including plant trials and scale-ups.
- Provide technical leadership for manufacturing and co-manufacturing partners, including root cause investigations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield, throughput, and equipment performance.
- Build and mentor a high-performing R&D team while establishing technical standards.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, FSQA, Procurement, and Supply Chain to align priorities.
- Ensure robust documentation of formulations, process changes, and validations.
