Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of industry experience in large-scale distributed systems.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in one or more languages (Go, Python, Ruby, Java, C++).
- Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and Thrift.
- Experience with distributed caching layers.
- Experience with large-scale data storage systems like Cassandra.
- Proven track record of developing highly scalable and reliable serving systems.
- Experience leading sized projects requiring cross-team collaboration.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to deliver projects on schedule.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environments.
- Excellent communication skills and experience partnering effectively in a remote setting.
Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally to execute on product and business strategy.
- Build novel products and features for the Presence team.
- Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
- Review code and design documentation while providing feedback on product specs.
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making for backend development.
- Mentor engineers on the team to help grow their technical expertise.
- Balance rapid product development with high-quality engineering standards.
