- Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and Thrift basics.
- Ability to design and implement maintainable APIs.
- Experience with distributed caching layers and large-scale data storage systems such as Cassandra.
- Track record of developing and improving highly scalable and reliable serving systems.
- Proven history of leading sized projects requiring cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to deliver projects on schedule.
- Entrepreneurial, self-directed mindset with a bias toward action.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to execute product strategy and build new features.
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle including technical design, development, testing, experimentation, and launch.
- Review code and design documents while providing constructive feedback on specifications.
- Participate in team-wide strategic planning and backend development decision-making processes.
- Develop standards to improve developer workflows and mentor engineers to build technical expertise.
- Balance development speed with system quality to build reliable, high-impact products.
