Requirements
- Production experience with Rust, including async programming, lifetimes, and ownership.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes internals (controllers, reconciliation loops, watches, admission webhooks).
- Hands-on experience building or maintaining Kubernetes operators using controller-runtime or similar frameworks.
- Fluency in Kubernetes networking (Service types, Ingress, Gateway API).
- Experience managing StatefulSets in production environments.
- Expertise in observability instrumentation for Kubernetes controllers.
- Experience building infrastructure subject to enterprise security and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and evolution of the SMBP Operator's CRD API surface.
- Design and implement flexible network configuration patterns for ingress and traffic management.
- Build Prometheus-native observability integrations including ServiceMonitor CRDs and dashboards.
- Harden the operator's security posture regarding pod security, network policies, and supply chain integrity.
- Enable deployability across enterprise Kubernetes landscapes including EKS, GKE, AKS, and OpenShift.
- Build operational tooling for support at scale, including kubectl plugins and diagnostics.
- Partner with customer-facing teams to support enterprise deployments and resolve technical escalations.
