Requirements
- 15+ years of experience developing complex software products.
- 8+ years of programming in Ruby on Rails.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or other public cloud environments.
- Experience with relational databases such as Postgres and in-memory datastores such as Redis.
- Experience building production systems with LLMs using agents, tools, evaluation, and guardrails.
- Experience with AI coding tools, such as Claude Code.
- Deep backend expertise and a track record of scaling production systems.
- Solid frontend fundamentals (experience with Hotwire, Turbo, and Stimulus).
- Proven ability to build and maintain large, highly parallel systems designed for concurrency, throughput, and correctness.
Responsibilities
- Act as the engineering face of the team and a trusted technical leader across the department.
- Balance technical rigor with pragmatism to make sound trade-off decisions across requirements and reliability.
- Break down ambiguous requirements into executable work to keep the team moving and unblocked.
- Mentor senior engineers, provide direct feedback, and model professional judgment and accountability.
- Design and ship agentic investigation capabilities for faster, accurate, and auditable SOC triage.
- Own the team's technical architecture and influence long-term technical strategy and system evolution.
- Prototype approaches for uncertain problems to derisk and prove out solutions.
