Requirements
- Proven experience managing senior technical professionals in a services, consulting, or Professional Services environment.
- Strong track record of coaching, performance management, and career development.
- Experience applying expertise in platform engineering, site reliability engineering, infrastructure, or software development.
- Experience running consultative engagements by linking technical work to business goals.
- Experience with complex presales work, including discovery, scoping, estimation, and solution definition.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, evolving environments.
- Experience building or improving repeatable delivery methods like playbooks, standards, and architecture patterns.
- Experience facilitating executive-level customer conversations and aligning cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to ramp up quickly in domains such as AI-powered developer workflows, security, or enterprise platform adoption.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the AMER Technical Architecture team, including Intermediate, Senior, and Staff Technical Architects.
- Oversee practice operations end to end, covering presales collaboration, engagement scoping, technical delivery, staffing, and utilization.
- Coach architects to grow as credible advisors centered on customer outcomes and strong technical judgment.
- Partner on complex presales motions with Engagement Managers on estimation, solution framing, and technical risk assessment.
- Join strategic customer conversations to provide senior technical expertise and clarify project ambiguity.
- Guide the team through first-mover delivery of new GitLab capabilities to shape and improve offerings.
- Turn lessons from engagements into reusable templates, architecture guidance, and implementation standards.
- Represent the practice in management discussions to improve coordination and service evolution.
