Requirements
- RHIT, RHIA, or CCS certification.
- Associates Degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Five years of coding experience and/or two years in auditing.
- Awareness of the financial impact of denials.
- Knowledge of APC reimbursement (Outpatient).
- Strong proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Proficiency with coding software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, planning, and time management skills.
- Experience in education, training, and auditing.
Responsibilities
- Communicates with leadership to develop educational programs based on clinical dashboard results.
- Identifies strategic plans to positively impact clinical dashboard metrics.
- Secures interdepartmental support for education strategy initiatives.
- Analyzes dashboard and audit data to construct action plans.
- Collaborates with the Pre-bill team to identify education opportunities.
- Onboards new staff on coding protocols.
- Develops teaching tools to promote quality outcomes.
- Performs monthly, quarterly, and/or yearly audits of coding and vendor staff.
- Performs additional audits as requested by leadership.
