Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 6+ years of professional experience in financial audit, credit risk management, loan review, or commercial financing within a financial institution.
- Well-developed understanding of commercial credit production processes, including underwriting, portfolio management, and credit-box administration.
- Working familiarity with Regulatory Interagency Guidance on Credit Risk Review Systems.
- Demonstrated experience conducting and managing credit audits or loan review functions in a banking setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate loan quality and identify risk exposures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to report on complex situations to senior leadership.
- Ability to write comprehensive reports and communicate conclusions clearly.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to read, write, and understand fluent English.
Responsibilities
- Orchestrate an audit program analyzing credit portfolio and administrative risks through regular testing activities.
- Compile, interpret, and report leading performance metrics used to monitor portfolio health.
- Review and evaluate loan quality, including underwriting standards, credit policy adherence, collateral adequacy, and borrower performance.
- Assess loan portfolios to ensure consistent and appropriate risk grades.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies for managing problem loans and corrective actions.
- Prepare and present management reports on loan quality and risk concentrations to Board Committee Directors.
- Provide credible challenge and recommendations based on sound analysis.
- Maintain independence of loan production and credit review processes.
