Requirements
- Law degree and qualification to practice in-house in a relevant jurisdiction.
- 7+ years of post-qualification legal experience, including significant exposure to SaaS product counseling.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies and associated legal considerations (IP, privacy, algorithmic accountability).
- Deep knowledge of GDPR and other major privacy regulations.
- Experience advising cross-functional product, engineering, and business teams in a tech environment.
- Ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable business guidance.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Prior exposure to generative AI technologies is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and R&D teams to identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks related to AI, privacy, IP, security, open source, and marketing.
- Advise Go-To-Market and Business Operations teams on product commercialization, licensing models, positioning, and regulatory considerations.
- Monitor and interpret evolving global regulations in AI, privacy, data protection, and competition law.
- Draft, implement, and maintain scalable legal frameworks, playbooks, and internal guidance.
- Support the development and governance of privacy, security, and AI compliance programs, including audits and risk assessments.
- Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice that enables business teams to move quickly while managing risk appropriately.
