Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 10+ years of legal experience with healthcare focus.
- Deep expertise in DME regulations and Medicare/Medicaid billing.
- Hands-on telehealth regulatory experience.
- Proven experience building or running a compliance program.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HIPAA, PHI/PII, and healthcare privacy.
- Experience as an independent operator in a startup or scaling-stage business.
- Track record of reducing outside counsel spend.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive compliance program for DME and telehealth.
- Act as Compliance Officer managing policies and training.
- Conduct internal compliance audits and manage regulatory investigations.
- Manage legal matters related to telehealth platforms and DME billing.
- Oversee state-level licensure requirements for telehealth and DME.
- Lead enterprise-wide HIPAA compliance and data privacy initiatives.
- Negotiate and manage commercial and vendor contracts.
- Provide legal guidance on employment law and HR matters.
- Support the executive team with corporate governance and strategic partnerships.
