Requirements
- 5+ years of payroll experience
- Strong foundation in payroll accounting and general-ledger reconciliation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and payroll tax regulations
- Experience with multi-state payroll compliance
- Hands-on experience with HRIS/payroll systems and accounting/ERP systems like NetSuite
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end payroll for ~300 employees across ~30 states
- Prepare payroll journal entries in NetSuite and resolve GL variances
- Perform payroll account reconciliations across wages, taxes, benefits, and 401(k)
- Prepare payroll accruals for month-end and quarter-end close
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage-and-hour laws
- Register company with state agencies and support tax and 401(k) audits
- Identify and implement ways to automate and scale payroll processes
