Requirements
- 4-6+ years of relevant work experience in back-office operations, startup operations, or operational finance
- Technical expertise in payroll, benefits administration, AP/AR, equity administration, or compliance
- Experience leading internal functions at startups or small/medium-sized businesses
- Experience leading junior team members on complex operational engagements
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to own operational workflows end-to-end
- Highly analytical with ability to process large amounts of unstructured information
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly entrepreneurial and able to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
Responsibilities
- Implement rigorous problem-solving to help solve clients' most challenging operational issues
- Lead complex operational engagements often with multiple junior team members
- Own communication with clients regularly to provide recommendations and manage expectations
- Implement payroll workflows, AP/AR processes, equity administration, and compliance frameworks
- Research latest developments and formulate insights into operational tools and best practices
- Build long-term client relationships and drive superior operational outcomes
- Partner with clients to deliver measurable and sustainable improvements in KPIs
- Monitor operational projects and provide escalation management
- Support compliance requirements, investor discussions, and board meetings
- Mentor and guide junior team members
