Requirements
- 10+ years experience scoping automated scientific workflow-based solutions.
- Experience designing enterprise-grade SaaS or hybrid architectures.
- Advanced understanding of integration patterns, APIs, data pipelines, and distributed systems.
- Proficiency with data platforms (Databricks) and integration tools (Apache NiFi).
- Familiarity with lab automation connectivity standards (SiLA2, LADS, OPC-UA).
- Experience integrating complex application landscapes (ELN, LIMS, SDMS, PLM, ERP, MES).
- Understanding of scientific R&D workflows in life sciences, pharma/biotech, or regulated environments.
- Experience working in customer-facing consulting or professional services roles.
- Experience working with system integrators or technology partners.
- Ability to reason about performance, scalability, and failure modes across multi-system environments.
Responsibilities
- Act as design authority for Luma-based customer solutions across informatics, data infrastructure, and physical lab systems.
- Define logical and physical architectures covering applications, integrations, and operations.
- Architect solutions bridging digital and physical lab environments from planning through to execution.
- Own non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, security, and observability.
- Design integration approaches using Apache NiFi, APIs, and event-driven patterns for real-time instrument data.
- Define data ingestion strategies for heterogeneous data in automated lab environments.
- Architect integrations with enterprise systems including ELN, LIMS, SDMS, PLM, ERP, and MES.
- Provide architectural guidance and enablement to internal teams, partners, and system integrators.
- Review designs and implementations to ensure architectural compliance and maturity.
