Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in field reimbursement, market access, health economics, or related functions within the medical device industry.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. healthcare policy, payer systems, hospital finance, physician reimbursement, coding methodologies, and healthcare delivery models.
  • Proven ability to evaluate medical documentation and reimbursement criteria to support coverage and payment reviews.
  • Experience working with emerging medical technologies or therapies where reimbursement pathways and payer coverage may be evolving.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and educational skills, including the ability to explain complex reimbursement and economic concepts effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed planning and successful execution of initiatives.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating cross-functionally across commercial, clinical, and market access teams.
  • Strong adaptability, problem-solving capabilities, and comfort navigating ambiguity and changing market conditions.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, up to 70% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hospitals, physicians, and sales teams to assess reimbursement environments and address coding, billing, coverage, payment, and claims-related challenges associated with therapy adoption.
  • Analyze customer-specific reimbursement needs, including CPT, ICD-10, DRG coding considerations, procedural documentation requirements, and denial management strategies.
  • Develop and implement customized reimbursement plans that support healthcare facilities in establishing and sustaining successful treatment programs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including hospital administrators, cath lab teams, billing departments, physicians, and payer representatives.
  • Monitor commercial and government payer policies, identify reimbursement opportunities and barriers, and develop solutions to improve patient access and coverage outcomes.
  • Present health economic and reimbursement information to diverse audiences in a clear, persuasive, and compliant manner.
  • Create educational materials and deliver training programs for sales representatives, healthcare professionals, billing teams, distributors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support regional commercial strategies by collaborating with sales leadership and assisting field teams with reimbursement-related questions and challenges.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the field and market access functions, sharing customer insights, emerging trends, reimbursement challenges, and payer developments.
  • Ensure all activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards governing reimbursement support services.
