Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in sales engineering, presales, or related technical customer-facing roles.
  • Prior leadership or management responsibility.
  • Background in networking, infrastructure, or enterprise IT solutions.
  • Experience supporting public sector environments (higher education and/or state/local government).
  • Proven ability to lead consultative selling efforts and support complex deal cycles.
  • Understanding of forecasting, pipeline management, and resource planning.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of pre-sales systems engineers supporting higher education and state government customers.
  • Partner with sales leadership to align technical resources with pipeline priorities and support account planning.
  • Oversee presales strategy execution, ensuring effective solution design and technical validation.
  • Coach and develop team members through performance management and mentoring.
  • Support business performance through forecasting, resource allocation, and operational oversight.
  • Engage in strategic customer discussions to shape solution direction.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve win rates and ensure successful delivery.
