Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in customer service or patient-facing support roles
  • 1–2 years of billing experience in a healthcare or related environment (preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Zendesk (minimum 2 years)
  • Experience working with EMR systems (Athena preferred)
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, aligned with CST business hours

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding billing inquiries, insurance questions, and payment-related concerns.
  • Support patient registration, intake processes, and updates to Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
  • Coordinate with clinical and insurance teams to verify coverage, benefits, and financial obligations.
  • Manage and resolve patient cases using support platforms such as Zendesk.
  • Assist patients in understanding billing statements, payment options, and healthcare-related financial processes.
  • Participate in audits and reviews to identify billing discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving patient experience and optimizing billing workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and strict protection of patient data and PHI.
