Requirements
- Active license as an MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) in MO, IN, and KY.
- Willingness to obtain cross-licensure in additional states as needed.
- 3+ years of experience working as an MD or DO.
- Prior experience evaluating clinical appropriateness for short-term disability and completing related documentation.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR).
- Proficiency in Google Suite and MS Office.
- Commitment to high-quality, cost-effective healthcare.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with medical and administrative staff.
Responsibilities
- Review patient intake assessments and charts to evaluate work-function impairment and medical necessity for Short-term Disability (STD).
- Conduct telehealth evaluations for STD certification.
- Complete, certify, and sign STD forms with accurate and consistent information.
- Coordinate with Charlie Health clinicians and care coordinators to resolve requests from employers/third-party adjudicators.
- Maintain service-level timelines for documentation submission and extensions.
- Ensure HIPAA and state/federal compliance.
- Provide direct patient care, medication management, and diagnostic evaluations as needed.
- Work with support staff for patient communication and follow-up.
