Requirements
- 7+ years of revenue cycle management experience (AR, denial management, collections).
- Expertise in commercial payer denial reason codes and appeal processes.
- Strong understanding of timely filing requirements.
- Demonstrated track record of reducing AR aging and denial rates.
- Experience with Athena Health or comparable practice management systems.
- Proven ability to build and lead a high-performing RCM team.
- Proficiency with AI tools to improve output and operational efficiency.
- Ability to work in a values-driven, data-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor ANSI X12 277CA claim acknowledgments to confirm payer receipt.
- Manage AR aging reports and establish follow-up workflows with defined SLAs.
- Execute systematic reduction of 180-day AR balances through appeals and collections.
- Develop and manage structured denial work queues and resubmission processes.
- Analyze denial trends to implement upstream controls and improve overturn rates.
- Coordinate collections activities and monitor cash collection rates against PMPM.
- Lead, recruit, and mentor a team of back-end RCM specialists and analysts.
- Ensure AR records in Athena are reconciled with Zuora and NetSuite.
