Requirements
- 10+ years as a professional software engineer.
- Proven track record as a staff software engineer.
- Linux systems expertise in namespaces, file descriptors, Unix sockets, mounts, networking, and process isolation.
- Experience with container runtimes, orchestration, or code execution platforms.
- Filesystem and storage experience (POSIX, content-addressed storage, crash recovery).
- Experience building and owning low-level system primitives in Rust or Go.
- Strong debugging skills for complex kernel, runtime, and storage issues.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction for some of Tines’ most critical systems.
- Scale the throughput and performance of the backend job processing system and code execution engines.
- Write and review high-quality, well-tested code.
- Identify areas for improvement in the codebase and team workflows.
- Own problems and software solutions from development through to production.
- Mentor other engineers on the team.
- Build high-availability systems to support massive data throughput.
- Create controls for job prioritization and balanced execution in multitenant stacks.
