Requirements
- Experience in mechanical plumbing and/or HVAC estimating or coordination
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (spreadsheets, formulas, cost build-ups, reporting)
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with BOQs and cost build-ups
- Excellent organizational skills
- Mechanical plumbing background
- HVAC plant/pipework knowledge
- Procurement/purchasing experience
- Experience with systems such as AroFlo or similar
- Strong communication skills for remote environments
- Commercial mindset regarding margins
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical plumbing and HVAC projects based on drawings, specifications, and scope of works
- Interpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical documents to develop detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
- Build and maintain detailed cost breakdowns, including labour, materials, subcontractors, and equipment
- Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimates
- Support project coordination activities from tender stage through to delivery
- Track project costs and assist in maintaining budgets and margin targets
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Assist in procurement and purchasing of materials
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, pricing assumptions, and project documentation
- Identify risks, gaps, and inconsistencies in project documentation
