Requirements
- Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
- Extensive experience with Backend (Elixir/Phoenix or Ruby or functional programming).
- Commitment to promoting Remote's company values.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping production systems.
- Practical experience designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows.
- Ability to think in systems: define specs, break down plans, and instrument verification.
- Solid communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles.
- Proven organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrates strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
Responsibilities
- Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers.
- Allocate 30% of time to management and the rest to active product development.
- Handle hiring and onboarding for the team.
- Manage team dynamics and provide continuous, constructive feedback.
- Provide coaching and career development support for direct reports.
- Redesign engineering shipping processes with autonomous agents as the default layer.
- Operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows (spec, plan, execute, verify).
- Develop reusable agentic workflows and primitives.
- Use verification loops (tests, checks, evals, guardrails) to ensure quality and scalability.
