Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, health administration or a related field.
  • MBA or equivalent.
  • 10+ years experience in healthcare payer strategy or consulting in the payer contracting space.
  • Deep understanding and experience with developing and negotiating payer contracts, particularly for Medicaid MCOs.
  • Deep network and established relationships with Medicaid payers.
  • Experience with successful value-based contracting for specialty services.
  • Experience with early-stage startups.
  • Proven record of exceeding sales quota and selling to C-level executives.
  • Proficiency in Hubspot and Google Suite.
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 30%).

Responsibilities

  • Leverage an established network within national and regional Medicaid MCOs to seed the sales pipeline.
  • Conduct research into state-specific Medicaid landscapes to prioritize high-value targets.
  • Own the end-to-end process of setting up high-level meetings with health plan executives.
  • Partner with executive leadership to execute complex business development deals.
  • Build and manage the foundational sales technology stack, including Hubspot CRM.
  • Establish a formal sales playbook with lead qualification criteria.
  • Lead contract strategy and negotiations to optimize partnership structure.
  • Advise leadership on legislative trends impacting payer priorities.
