Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the software or storage industry.
- 3+ years of proven experience in a pre-sales sales engineer role.
- Experience delivering, presenting, and selling to Enterprise/Commercial clients.
- Strong competitive knowledge and technical solution selling skills.
- Proven experience conducting Proof of Concepts.
- Knowledge of data management solutions (backup, recovery, migration, etc.).
- Familiarity with software licensing practices (cloud, perpetual, term).
- Proficiency with at least one major open systems operating system, hypervisor, or cloud.
- Infrastructure knowledge including storage, servers, networking, and hyper-convergence.
- Sales methodology experience (e.g., MEDDIC, TAS, SPIN).
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and produce territory plans and account strategies.
- Engage with customers to qualify technical and business issues.
- Drive Technical Account Plans for focus targets and customers.
- Translate business requirements into technical solution requirements.
- Coordinate demonstrations and proof-of-concepts.
- Present Commvault products to business sponsors and C-level executives.
- Participate in regional meetings and QBRs.
- Provide technical expertise to channel and alliance partners.
- Maintain technical and market expertise through ongoing training.
- Assist with product/process improvements and document activities in Salesforce.
