Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in SaaS or product environments.
- 3+ years operating at a Staff, Principal, or Lead level.
- Deep proficiency in Ruby on Rails and relational databases like Postgres or MySQL.
- Experience evolving large, mature codebases toward modular architectures.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with testing, CI/CD, observability, and incident response.
- Experience shaping and adopting AI-assisted engineering workflows.
- Proven track record of setting technical direction and building cross-team alignment.
Responsibilities
- Shape technical direction for the Rails monolith, Postgres data layer, and infrastructure.
- Define and communicate tradeoffs around performance, reliability, and delivery.
- Scale AI-augmented engineering practices across the organization.
- Partner with Product, Payments, Data, and DevOps teams to align on shared priorities.
- Advocate for reliability in high-risk areas like payments and financial reporting.
- Contribute high-quality, production-ready code and review critical changes.
- Mentor senior engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
