Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).
- 12+ years of progressive experience in software engineering with significant leadership responsibility.
- 5+ years of experience leading large engineering teams, including multiple teams or managers.
- Strong technical background in Java, SAS, and R.
- Solid experience in the life sciences industry with eClinical, Clinical Informatics, biometrics, or regulatory software.
- Proven success delivering complex, enterprise-scale software platforms.
- Experience with cloud-based environments, APIs, distributed systems, and CI/CD.
- Strong understanding of software quality systems, validation expectations, and SDLC controls.
- Demonstrated ability to lead globally distributed teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale the product engineering organization responsible for eClinical, Clinical Informatics, and biometrics workflows.
- Provide technical and organizational leadership to multiple engineering teams, including managers and technical leads.
- Define and execute engineering strategy, technical roadmap, and resource plans.
- Oversee software architecture, system design, coding standards, and performance optimization.
- Partner with Product Management, Biometrics, and Regulatory teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Ensure software solutions meet security, privacy, auditability, and validation requirements.
- Establish engineering KPIs, quality indicators, and delivery metrics.
- Build, mentor, and retain high-performing engineering teams.
- Collaborate with QA/Validation teams for audit readiness.
- Guide resolution of critical technical issues and customer escalations.
