Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in legal operations, technical program management, automation, or engineering-adjacent roles focused on workflow transformation.
  • Proven experience designing and deploying production-grade AI or automation systems used in real operational environments.
  • Strong technical skills including API integration, REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, authentication, error handling, and system observability.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting or automation tools such as Python, SQL, or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications, including multi-step agentic workflows and tool-calling systems.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, PII handling, and legal or regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to translate ambiguous operational needs into scalable, reliable, production-ready systems.
  • Experience implementing governance frameworks including risk tiering, audit logging, and human-in-the-loop design.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for legal and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the end-to-end strategy and roadmap for AI-driven transformation within the legal function.
  • Identify, design, and deploy AI-powered workflows across legal processes including intake, contracting, research, reporting, and advisory work.
  • Build production-grade automation systems with embedded governance, auditability, privilege awareness, and human-in-the-loop controls.
  • Partner with IT, Legal leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to implement scalable technical solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Establish and enforce risk-tiering frameworks, data governance models, and compliance standards for all legal automation initiatives.
  • Design structured, queryable legal data systems that support analytics, AI use cases, and operational transparency.
  • Lead change management efforts by training legal teams on AI tools and embedding AI fluency into daily workflows.
  • Develop documentation, playbooks, and operational frameworks to ensure scalability and long-term sustainability of legal systems.
  • Track, measure, and report the impact of automation initiatives, including efficiency gains, capacity improvements, and turnaround time reductions.
