Requirements
- 8+ years in a technical, operations, or engineering-adjacent role.
- Hands-on experience designing and deploying AI-powered or automated workflows in production.
- Strong hands-on experience with API integration and middleware (REST APIs, JSON, webhooks).
- Comfort with scripting or automation (e.g., Python or SQL).
- Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs, including tool-calling and agentic workflows.
- Experience designing agentic systems with human-in-the-loop review and safety constraints.
- Strong systems thinking around reliability, security, permissions, and data integrity.
- Solid understanding of data classification, PII handling, and privacy obligations.
- Experience implementing governance and risk frameworks for AI/automation systems.
- Strong communication skills for translating technical solutions for leadership.
Responsibilities
- Define Legal’s AI transformation strategy and multi-horizon roadmap.
- Assess legal work flows across intake, contracting, research, advice, and reporting.
- Design and deploy AI-powered workflows with error handling and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
- Partner with IT to integrate designed systems.
- Classify all automation by risk tier and ensure documented data flows.
- Maintain audit logging for systems touching privileged work product.
- Own the data layer and data quality across legal systems.
- Train attorneys and legal staff on AI-assisted tools and workflows.
- Track and report quarterly on automation impact and efficiency metrics.
