Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive experience in global logistics or supply chain operations, with a proven track record of handling high-volume international shipments.
- A demonstrated ability to think in terms of margins and business impact, rather than just operational execution.
- Deep understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, trade compliance frameworks, Incoterms, and international documentation processes.
- Experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and transportation providers
- A history of successful direct negotiations with global carriers and logistics partners.
- Advanced skills in logistics platforms, ERP systems, and the Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel for data-driven recommendations).
- High attention to detail with strong documentation accuracy
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end international logistics operations, encompassing ocean, air, and inland freight from high-level strategy through granular execution.
- Negotiate directly with freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics providers to aggressively reduce costs while simultaneously improving service levels.
- Build and manage a reliable, direct logistics/vendor network, moving beyond a reliance on brokers to ensure supply chain resilience.
- Design and implement initiatives that deliver measurable cost savings, improved transit times, and streamlined operational workflows.
- Serve as the primary authority on U.S. import/export compliance, auditing all documentation and processes to mitigate regulatory risk.
- Independently resolve complex shipment disruptions and logistics crises with authority, implementing corrective actions without the need for constant escalation.
- Work closely with Sales and Procurement leadership to align logistics strategies with broader business priorities and planning cycles.
