Requirements:
- Experience with import/export drayage
- Experience working at a steamship line, drayage carrier, or freight forwarder
- Ability to support work from home
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the scheduling, dispatch, and tracking of drayage shipments
- Monitor and analyze dispatch operations for optimal route and resource allocation
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with drivers, carriers, and port officials
- Implement strategies to minimize costs and improve efficiency
- Ensure compliance with transportation laws, safety regulations, and company policies
- Resolve shipment issues in a timely and effective manner
- Provide leadership, training, and support to other dispatch team members
- Stay informed of industry trends, technologies, and best practices
- Manage accounts and serve as the lead shipment point of contact
- Foster strong relationships with client contacts
- Negotiate to ensure the best costs and value
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and ensure their long-term satisfaction
- Collaborate with sales team to identify and grow opportunities
- Work together with sales team to ensure client satisfaction
- Assist with special projects as requested
