Requirements:
6+ years of progressive experience in benefits, Leave of Absence administration, and global mobility/immigration. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. In-depth knowledge of US federal and state regulations (FMLA, ADA, ACA, ERISA). Working knowledge of Canadian and Mexican frameworks. Experience partnering with immigration counsel and managing cases across multiple countries. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Experience with tech ops and benefits administration systems. Familiarity with Workday (ideal).
Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end administration of benefit programs (health, life insurance, disability, pension, leave of absence) across the US, Mexico, and Canada. Serve as primary liaison with benefits brokers, vendors, and carriers. Collaborate with benefits brokers to evaluate and implement benefit plan changes. Lead annual open enrollment activities. Develop and maintain compliant processes aligned with regional regulations. Analyze benefits utilization data and employee feedback for program improvement. Own the full lifecycle of LOA programs (medical, parental, personal, statutory, company-sponsored). Serve as subject-matter expert on FMLA, ADA/ADAAA, state/provincial leave regulations, and local statutory leave entitlements. Partner with payroll, people partners, managers, and external leave administrators. Ensure accurate leave tracking, documentation, and reporting. Support interactive accommodation processes and return-to-work plans. Lead global immigration strategy and case management. Partner with external immigration counsel. Oversee global mobility policies and relocations. Provide guidance on immigration feasibility, timelines, and candidate planning. Identify opportunities to streamline global mobility processes. Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers. Build strong partnerships with internal departments and external vendors. Create and deliver employee-facing resources and communications. Ensure compliance with all local, state, provincial, federal, and country-specific regulations. Maintain documentation, SOPs, and audit-ready processes. Generate regular reporting on benefits metrics, leave trends, and immigration case status. Proactively evaluate and improve processes.
