Requirements:
3+ years of experience in People Operations, Project Management, Office Management, Systems Administration, or a similar generalist role Strong technical affinity and enthusiasm for tools, workflows, and automation Independent working style with excellent structure and ownership Ability to support employees and managers with a solution-oriented mindset Strong prioritization, organization, and self-management skills Solid understanding of HR fundamentals, labor law basics, and compliance Excellent English and German skills (C1+) Based in Berlin or willing to relocate Experience with Ashby, Personio, or similar HRIS (Nice to have) Startup experience (Nice to have) Exposure to IT administration, access management, or automation tools like make.com and/or Zapier (Nice to have)
Responsibilities:
End-to-end ownership of the hiring process Partner with hiring managers on job scoping Conduct first-round interviews Lead and continuously improve onboarding Own all internal tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Personio, Ashby, etc.) Manage user access, permissions, and security standards Lead technical onboarding and offboarding Manage hardware through leasing partner Build and maintain automations Continuously improve systems, documentation, and operational efficiency Maintain and develop people processes, policies, documentation, and compliance Coordinate payroll changes, benefits, and contract updates Support performance cycles and employee inquiries Take full ownership of engagement surveys and action plans Host weekly town hall meetings Manage accurate employee data across HRIS tools Prepare contracts, letters, and confirmations Support basic labor-law administrative workflows Ensure clean, structured documentation Keep the office functional, organized, and inviting Manage incoming mail Order snacks, drinks, and supplies Coordinate vendors and handle daily office needs Drive engagement, well-being, and DEI initiatives Take ownership of company offsites Support internal communication, rituals, and cultural moments
