Software Engineering Manager

8+ Years of experience in software engineering. 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including people management. Startup and remote team management preferred. Strong hands-on experience with GoLang, Rust, Python, HTTP/S services, JavaScript, TypeScript, and CSS. Strong understanding of full-stack web development including deployment to both on-premise and cloud environments. Solid understanding of software development best practices across the SDLC. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to work through ambiguity and occasional changes in direction. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Lead and develop UI, backend, software QA, and data engineering teams. Provide coaching, career guidance, and performance evaluations. Create a supportive and empowering engineering culture. Deliver high-level architectural direction and ensure quality implementations. Provide technical mentorship in GoLang, Rust, Python, HTTP/S services, JavaScript, TypeScript, and CSS. Ensure software releases are thoroughly tested. Ensure adherence to US Government doctrine like NIST SSDF. Work cross-functionally to identify dependencies and communicate timelines. Collaborate with Forward Deployed Engineering to meet customer needs. Build timelines, estimates, and designs with product management. Maintain a high bar of velocity, urgency, and quality for deliverables.
