Sr. Privacy Counsel

Bachelor’s Degree required Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an accredited law school Membership with good standing in at least one U.S. State Bar 6+ years of legal practice experience, in-house legal experience preferred Ability to interact with and gain respect from senior business leaders Business-oriented problem solver and flexible team player Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Demonstrable experience advising on privacy matters, legislation, Ads, and global privacy laws & regulations (including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, and other international data protection frameworks) Significant experience drafting and negotiating data protection terms in commercial contracts Ability to translate legal advice into actionable policies, processes, and programs

Support business (product, engineering) on privacy-first products and services. Advise on data management and use, including privacy for EdTech, Advertising, and data governance. Support public community platform, Ads, and Stack Overflow for Teams businesses. Provide subject matter expert advice on regulatory investigations, individual complaints, and GDPR matters. Manage GDPR individual data subject access rights requests and data retention. Provide expert advice on global privacy law and regulation. Support product lawyer in evaluating privacy law impact on products and features. Develop and maintain expertise in data use and protection laws. Structure, draft, review, and negotiate data protection terms in commercial agreements and DPAs. Collaborate with InfoSec team to obtain and maintain security certifications.
